World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue is a biennial event organized by the Government of Azerbaijan in partnership with United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), UNESCO, UN World Tourism Organization, Council of Europe and ISESCO.
As one of the, major partners of the Forum since 2010, UNAOC has organized more than ten events within the framework of the 1st and 2nd World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku, in Azerbaijan in 2011 and 2013. UNAOC will again partner this year with the Government of Azerbaijan in organizing the 3rd World Forum titled: "Culture and sustainable development in the post 2015 development agenda". The forum will focus on a number of issues, including:
World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development (UNGA Declaration observed on May 21 every year).
The role of faiths and religions in building trust and cooperation among cultures and civilizations and the positive impact that sports, arts, and education can play in this effort.
The importance of the business community and the private sector in these efforts
The effect of migration policies on the post 2015 development agenda held in Baku
Around 200 hundred participants including UN officials, representatives of different diplomatic missions and experts will come together at the ceremony.
